Watch “How Wolves Change Rivers” on YouTube

What happened when wolves were reintroduced into the Yellowstone National Park twenty years ago? This film explains how the reintroduction of a top predator – a vital link in the ecosystem of that and many other areas around the world – changed the landscape back to its former harmonious state as a result of what is known as the trophic cascade. Entire landscapes can shift and change due to this effect, as shown in the film.

Wolves play a vital role in these parts of the world and have every reason to exist. Sadly, they are persecuted by hunters (due to bloodlust, fear and ignorance) and corporations who wish to colonise and utilise land for mining, logging and other typically destructive human activities.

We really must protect all of our highly evolved and specialised top predators; ecosystems collapse and food chains disintegrate when we don’t, with other species populations then spiralling out of control or disappearing all together.
